black star chicken not laying very many eggs

My black star chickens are not laying very many eggs.
I have 13 chickens and i only get 4 eggs a day.
And they are loseing their feathers to,some of the chickens skin is red and some are not. Can somebody tell whats going on with them?



p.s. they are about 1year and half old.

Your girls are moulting ie shedding their feathers and growing some new ones. Takes about 3 months and then they'll be back in to it again. Kinda like a chicken vacation.

Sounds like they are moulting. They do slow down in their egg production and some stop laying while they are moulting.
