Hey! I got this bonus chick from Murray Mcmurray this spring. About 6 months old now. I have no idea what she is. Her body seems to be undersize for her head and neck. Check out her legs. They’re misinformed misshapen. I have no idea if she was hatched that way or was in someway hurt. I have no recollection of a hobbling chick in the brooder. I’m trying to determine her next career move. Thanks in advance for your input.

Hmmmm. I got her as a chick mid April. She is 5 1/2 months old now. A normal hen should start laying by now, but her feathers are not very nice and she has always been undersized. I have had her in my chicken tractor with other young pullets and cockerels and she has never looked as good as they do. Thanks for your input! Sure - will get more pics. I will post to you and then also put them in the Medical forum.

This is my first post and I dont really know my way around the site yet.

Agree that it looks like an Easter egger. Not sure on gender though. The vibe I'm getting is male, but I can't be sure. I want to say I'm seeing male saddle feathers, but the overall feather condition is poor enough it could just be an optical illusion. The comb is not quite as bright as I'd expect from a cockerel, but that could just be poor condition. It also wouldn't surprise me to see a 5.5 month old pullet with a comb that red either.

I have no idea what's going on with those legs  If this were a pullet I might let her be part of an egglaying or pet flock. If a cockerel I would cull. Either way, I would not be breeding that bird.
