Black Star Hens

I am looking at getting a coop and some egg laying Black star Hens but they are wanting $15 each for the hens. That sounds really high to me. What do you think?

They are wanting $150 for everything the coop that is 5x8x8 with feeders and 5 hens. Is this a good price???

I'd say go for it. You can always expand once you get the hang of it!

If the hens are under a year old, they still have lots of lay in them $15 is pretty good for here.

I've seen coops alone that size w/ two nest boxes that run $140 w/o feeders.

They lay HUGE eggs and lots of them. If we had it to do over or next time for sure DBF wants nothing but black stars. Well worth the price.

Edited to add - do you know how old they are? Ours are almost 2 and laying like crazy.
