Black Star Toenail

Hello,
Our Black Star hen is bleeding from her back toenail , it looks like it is gone. The only thing I can think is she hurt it in the nesting box scratching around b/c before she went in there she was fine. What do we do???

Hopefully the bleeding has stopped by now. If not you can use flour, cornstarch, or stypic powder to stop the bleeding. You could apply a little anti-biotic cream without any caine pain reliever, like lidocaine. Can you isolate her to keep her from getting it dirty/infected?
