Black Stars?

One more question. I read that black star pullets have brown markings and the males have a hint of white to barring. Is this correct? I have 5, 4 with brown and black and 1 with black and a hint of white. I would post pictures if it would stop raining...love the PNW

The adult pullets will often have a black base color, and flecks of gold/red starting on the head neck area. Roos will be barred like a barred rock.
As chicks, the boys will have a white dot on their heads, and girls will have black heads.
