Black swede Or Cauyga?

it's def not a runner. That's not runner colors at all. Swedes do come in a silver slpash color, whihc can be light than regular swedes. What hatchery did you get them from?

They are from Tractor Supply Co. I have no clue what hatchery they came from. I'd guess either Privett (Sp?) or Ideal. Those are the 2 ppl normally order from around here. They also had rouen/mallards, buffs and Pekins. I think a silver Swede is a good guess since it does have the same markings as the swedes. (I know its hard to tell, but you'll just have to trust me.)

Thanks everyone.

Beautiful ducklings. This has helped me as I had a little grey/yellow one we got from Atwoods and I didn't know what it was. It looks just like yours they are saying is a blue swedish only not crested. Again, just adorable.

I don't think its a buff. Here is a group pic so you can see it kinda has a color bands.

They told me they got there chicks from Privett. All they had here were
Pekin

If I saw right the OP is in Texas so those ducks would have come from Ideal. It is almost impossible to tell some of the Cayugas from the dark or black blue swedish, it also could be a black runner but it doesn't look tall enough. The last one's eyes look like a buff duck but then when you added the pic of it with the group I have to think that it is a splash - blue swedish. As with any 'blue' breed they will come in all 3 forms, black, blue (silver) or spash.

I hope you got what you wanted. They will have ducks for 3 more weeks so maybe you will be able to tell soon and go back for more if it is not what you wanted.

Oh, I love all ducks. It doesn't really matter what kind they are. I have Pekins, 1 buff male, 1 rouen female, and some mutts they hatched out. These guys are going to expand my gene pool and hopefully pair up with the loners (unmated single girls i have). I ordered all my other ducks from Ideal so I know these will be good healthy birds. I was just hoping for a Cayuga because i don't have any black ducks. A black swede will be just as pretty!
