I’m hopefully going to get two black Swedish ducks tomorrow if you haven’t heard. I want all the FAQs about them and if they can fly, if they are nice, if they fight with other breeds of ducks (like Pekins).

Thanks!

Nothing?? Maybe @Miss Lydia knows a thing or two about them

I’m getting them tomorrow or the next day, they haven’t been delivered to TSC yet.

Swedish are a large, domestic breed, so they are certainly unable to fly. From my experience, they are personable and very good layers of large eggs. I keep my two Swedish hens with over twenty other breeds with no fighting problems. I can try to post pictures later if you would like to see adults. And be sure to post pics when you get them!

I’m getting them this afternoon!

I only have 4 chickens, just out of curiosity do ducks also have a pecking order like the chickens do?
I mean introducing your 2 new ducks will they have to go through the same type of intro chickens have to be accepted?

Drakes will fight, but duck hens usually get along fairly well. :)
