Not sure exactly what this is, but I was just looking at the chickens and noticed my baby Bonnie (5 years old) has this black thing on her nail that protrudes out. When I tried to touch or almost slightly "pull" on it she pulled her foot away and tried to move away from me. I tried to get pictures but she was suspicious of what I was doing. It's slightly under the nail and sticks out.

Looks like a piece of skin/scales from her foot. I would just leave it alone till it heals its self and falls off. . Do you see mites on her?

I didn't put I haven't done a treatment in a while. should I do that? I don't want to hurt her if it's like an open wound. If it is I would really like to disinfect it make sure it doesn't get infected. she hasn't laid in 2 years and recently, like 3 days now, has been laying.

You can give her an Epsom salt soak and wrap her toe up so it stays clean. Just make sure you check it.
