Black-tailed Buff Orpingtons

I think it would be neat to have some buff columbian Orps. I think these black-tails are a good start, aren't they?

Where does the "Columbian" part of the name come from?

That black in the tail of your Buff Orp is referred to as "smut." A small bit of smut is acceptable, but judges will take points away if the bird is shown. To get rid of the smut, you need to breed her to a clear rooster - one without smut. It will take some time to get the smut out of the bloodline, but it will improve the color of your birds.
