One of my hens, a 4 yr old, has a black tarry butt. No feather loss, and when she was laying, the stuff was on the eggs also. It washed off, so it wasn't 'tar', but she's not laying now. Maybe her age? Anyhow, any ideas on what the black tar is, and what's to be done for it? Eyes are bright, she very active, eats and drinks normally.
