Hello all,
I live in Melbourne and recently two of my chickens have been diagnosed with blackhead. The sicker one ( watery stools but otherwise fine ) has been fighting it for 2 months now. Confirmed by avian vet and was prescribed Panacur but seems to not be doing much. Does anyone else have any advice or experience?
I'd be devo if I lost these two heritage girls and my Easter eggers are not showing any symptoms but have also been treated too

Blackhead is rare in chickens, more common in turkeys, but it can happen. What have been the symptoms? What dosage of Panacur was given? Cecal worms are usually found, and those are treated with 3 straight days of Panacur. Dosage of the 10% is 0.25 ml per pound of weight. Blackhead is usually treated with an antiprotozoal drug, metronidazole given for 5 days. I will tag @casportpony in case she has any thoughts.

Panacur 10% given for 5 days at 1ml for bigger girls and .6ml for smaller girls. Greta watery stools have not improved much, they had yellow sulfar like poop and one was listless. The heritage girls are eating and drinking normally. The Easter eggers stools are normal. What is the prognosis like?
