Blackhead Resistant Strains

I checked with my extension office. Although they can't point to any blackhead infections in my area they of course don't advise raising turkeys on my property. We have free range chickens here and a healthy population of wild turkey. They suggested raising them on wire or a concrete floor but we're not a production farm. Just a family with some backyard birds. She did say there might be some resistant strains being bred.

Does anyone know of any? I'm partial to midget whites. Any other advice? Thanks.

No info on `resistant' turks.

However, regular worming schedule of all poultry is the next best thing. Fenbendazole is comprehensive.
