Howdy and thank you for taking a moment to look at my hand forged sweet corn chicken treat feeders.

These feeders start life as pieces of 3/8" solid mild steel stock which is heated over a coal fire and formed by hand with a hammer and anvil. While there are probably many different ways these can be used, they are designed to be used with ears of sweet corn as an occasional treat and a form of entertainment for you and your flock.

The eye bolt easily threads into the "stalk" end of an ear of fresh sweet corn. The hook part can be stomped into the ground using the foot peg, and the hanging corn proves irresistible to your flock. My 11 birds can completely strip the meat of the corn in about 10-15 minutes but they continue to peck at the cob intermittently for several more hours. It is fun for the birds and fun for anyone watching. Right now corn is out of season but I still see it for between 20 and 30 cents an ear. In season it is even less expensive making this a very affordable treat (have you priced freeze dried meal worms lately?!).

The pictures in this ad are of a couple of the hooks I have made as representative examples. I have a few of these in stock and I am happy to make more as requested. The yellow one is the one I use for my own birds. Usually I paint the hooks flat black but if you have a different color preference please let me know and we might be able to work something out for the color of your choice.

Here is a video of my birds enjoying an ear of corn from their treat feeder.

► This ad is for one standard sized (works with bantam or full size birds) single hook, one eye bolt, and an instruction sheet. Double/two sided hooks or larger are available for additional cost.

► Shipping to the lower 48 US states is $7. ($27 total) Sorry it is so much but these are solid metal objects and therefore pretty heavy. I am happy to investigate shipping out of the country or to AK or HI but additional shipping charges would apply

► If you have any questions or wish to discuss custom work (eg. wall mounted or solid floor mounting options) please send me a PM.
