So a few months ago i adopted three 16 month old Ex battery hens, they are brown shavers, when we got them the had no feathers, now they are all fluffy and happy. A few weeks after we got them i noticed blood in the hen house, i checked all of the chickens and one of the chickens sure enough had a huge wound under her bottom, she had had a dribbely bottom from eating too much grass and not being used to it, then her dribbely bottom had become fly blown and was covered in maggots. Good thing im not squeemish. So i filled a big tub with warm water and washed/pulled all the moggots out with tweezers. That night we took her to the vet and they gave us some stuff for the wound and told us to keep her off the grass. The wound heeled and she was fine but just before i found (The same chicken) was had blood all over her bum, i washed most of the blood off and kept her away from the other chickens because they where pecking at the blood. But it looks like she is trying to poop her guts out? She is just sitting there, all puffed u[p like she is sleeping. I'm realy worried, what can i do untill we can get a vet appointment? Please help! (in the photos she is still wet from her bath) her bum is also REALY swolen
