hi my ducks are now 6 weeks old and happily living outside, I noticed today one was sitting down a lot more than usual.just picked her up and had a look and there is blood on the underside of her foot, its got a cut on it. I wiped it over, then swished her foot in clean water.she can walk but isnt doing so as much.
what else can I /should I have done.
the cut isnt really deep but is more like a slit.

is there a spray i could get instore for another such emergency. will she be ok?

You could apply a triple antibiotic without any pain reliever in it and a blue or red Kote. Definitely try to keep it clean. I know it's the bottom of foot and poop is everywhere, but maybe bring your duck inside to help control it a bit.

Just keep it clean and put some neosporin (without pain reliever) on it and put a clean bandages on it to help keep it clean & dry.

This is old but I'm bringing it back-- had this happen to my broody's spur toe this eve. It had dried up after about 15 mins or so, but i Did the Epsom Salts soak, which caused bleeding to restart :( So, tried to keep some pressure on it with Neosporin in a gauze pad. No vet wrap on hand. Any suggestions please?

That's an item to add to the kit, or similar. Check my post on natural chicken keeping on my recycled veggie tray with a lid discovery. Thanks Amiga, you are the best and you so bless us and our flocks by sharing your bountiful knowledge! Update on my mom out in the barn: bleeding has stopped!
