TOday, I had three pullets (about 12 weeks old) bleeding from their rectum. One had about a 2 inch tube of blood (I don't know if it is her intestine or not) but she is also very weak. Anybody know what this is, how serious and contagious it is and how to treat it?

I had that happen to me with one of my 3 week old polish chicks, she had got in with the large hens who roughed her up, I imediatly removed her put her in a cat crate but the blood continued and 3 days later she passed. Is there a rooster or larger bird in with them?

No rooster or older chickens...but she is a little smaller than most of them.

If all 3 are bleeding it could be a bad case of cocci. I'd get some amprolium, brand name is Corid. 1 tablespoon per gallon of water.
