Hi all, I have a blind chicken who is in isolation because she was getting abused by the flock. I was planning on keeping her in an old rabbit hutch that has one side open and the other three covered. Will she be ok in here over our long Michigan winter??

Well, I don't think so. Maybe. Chickens are flock animals, and I don't ever separate mine. If they don't fit with the flock, I cull them, cause I can't stand the thought of them in a small tight quarters all alone. Chickens tend to huddle together on the roost and share body heat.

This. ^ Sometimes the kindest thing we can do for our animals is the hardest thing for us to do.
