Hello, we have been doing the NYS pheasant release program for 2 years now and this year we ended up with a female pheasant who has gone blind, but otherwise totally healthy. She finds her way around the pen with her beak, she goes from the brush pile to the house where the food and water is and even comes to her name, pretty girl. She loves to sit on my arm and was picked on by the others so bad her one wing is missing feathers so she can only fly to the ground which she loves to do from my arm. She seems happy and healthy so with us she will stay. My question is I know guinea hens are close to pheasants and I have 18 guinea keet that have hatched and their mother is no where to be found. Can I put the keets in with the pheasant or do they also carry dieases that will harm a pheasant. I don't want to put them in with the female pheasant until I know for sure if she will be ok. I figure maybe she can mother them as their free ranging mother never came back, luckly I caught most of them and have them in a large toy box for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Lori
