I have a really nice EE roo that lost both his eyes in different fights. I've been keeping him isolated since this summer, mostly so he could adjust to not seeing without the other birds picking on him. He's done really well, and I've discovered that he can still see a little out of one eye, just enough to catch shadow movement, but not well enough to actually "see" anything. I've moved him to a bigger cage now and put a hen in with him that I've been wanting to breed him with for company. Is it still possible for him to breed with her, or will his lack of vision cause him problems mounting her?

Hey BC, good to see you!

I would say where there's a will there's a way.

I think he'll be able to figure it out, so long as she's willing! Chickens are very adaptable, I'm sure he'll be able to figure it out by touch.
