We purchased 2 silver laced wyandotte chicks 2 years ago. This past February, PeePee seemed to have a neurological issue and went blind. I kept her separated and fed her for several weeks but ultimately had to uthenize her. She had difficulty eating, finding her food and walking. We saw no other issues with our other chickens and assumed it was attributed to an injury - maybe from our rooster.

Last week (8/1/12) I started to notice the same symptoms in her sister, Sunny. Sunny is obviously becoming blind. She is already blind in one eye and has difficulty walking and eating her food. I'm afraid we're going down the same path with Sunny.

Does anyone know of a hereditary condition that affects wyandottes? We have a silver laced pullet about 12 weeks old.
