Blizzard in CT

Well everything worked out. Only 14 inches and it ended early. However, I will come up with a better plan in the future, like a covered run area that I can close off in snotty weather. Thanks for all the advice!

They were predicting around 28" for eastern NJ, where I am.

I closed the door to the run, didn't want the blowing snow in the coop.

We got all of 8".

I doesn't matter, the birds won't go in the run if it is white, doesn't matter how deep.

They will probably not go out for a few weeks now...

We got 34 inches here. The chickens stayed locked in the coop all day. I went out a few times to check on them and make sure they weren't pecking each other to death. They survived, no blood drawn. The next morning, my husband shoveled a path out to the coop and the run. A little snow had gotten in the run (and a trace amount in the coop, from the soffit vents), and I shoveled that out for them.

As of right now, it is snowing again (3-6 inches, they say) and we are supposed to get more in Monday!
