The run is very large, a big enclosure, about 7 ft tall and 10 or 12 ft long on all sides. Any ideas for what I can use as a light source for inside the coop? Christmas lights stapled up top? I can't think of what else. I don't want a fire hazard obviously, lol.

Depending on how big the coop is I think getting them out might stilll be best. That's a big wall but nothing 6 pizza boxes couldn't make a dent in. Just one example of emergency solution.

Any kind of electric light should work, especially if it doesn't heat up much. I think Christmas lights would work fine in a pinch.

There are battery operated LED lights worth having around. Cold might impact battery length though I guess.

Going to hang a small lantern flashlight with fresh batteries in the coop and put food and water inside, hopefully the light will stay on most of the day

If you are near a Costco they have great GE lanterns for about $20. They have three levels of light and take six D-batteries so I think they would last for a while on the lowest setting.
I use the brightest setting in my shed and it lights it up like a regular indoor lightbulb.

They make some of those camping lights that use AA batteries as well, which Walmart sells. I bought a solar light rope for my patio for $10 at Harbour Bay that is long, and the base could sit outside the coop in the sun. Of course the light is on at night and off in the daytime, which probably will not help.

I have battery led lanterns, from costco and walmart, batteries last a pretty good amount of time.
They get used a lot around here, lots of power outages. When I have to lock my birds up due to weather (usually hurricane or tropical storm here) I just put temporary feeders and waterers in the coop until they can come back out. Passing this on for future windbreak material, this is what I use, I drilled small holes in it and attached to every other space in my run wall for both shade and rain/windbreak with cable ties/tie wraps over my hardware cloth. They don't warp, rot, mold, etc. are pretty sturdy, and since the tie wraps are easily replaced you can remove them and put them back up when you want or when necessary. Coach, do those panels do okay with drilling holes? Any shattering as happens with plexiglas? I have only tried sawing plexiglas, not drilling, and it can be tricky.

These panels are not rigid like plexiglass and not like the plastic used for light covers, they are more flexible, more like a stiffer version of vinyl flooring, though that's an imperfect description. Drilling was not an issue. I also used a soldering iron once to melt holes when I was in a hurry and couldn't find the drill bit. I found them in the wall paneling section of my store. Mine have been up for 2 years and the panels are fine, have replaced a few tie wraps, I do use fairly heavy tie wraps. They went through hurricane Irma this year and held up.
