Block access to the nestingboxes?

I looked out the window earlier, and noticed all 6 of my girls sitting on the cabinet in front of the nesting boxes.

That's a ceramic egg - recently set things up, but a little early - the girls are 9 weeks old - 3 RIR and 3 NHR. I went out quietly and took a look, and 2 of them were still sitting there - the others were hanging around the side of the henhouse where I usually find them gathered after dusk starts setting in.

Seems to me I saw a thread in here somewhere that warned about hens nesting before they're ready to start laying, and that causing some kind of medical issue...can'r find the thread! Am I remembering correctly? Should I block the nesting boxes for a while?

Any help in jogging my memory is greatly appreciated!

Have a great evening, and God bless!

I never did anything for my girls. When it was time for them to lay, they climbed up to their boxes and produced an egg. Funny though. Sometimes you can tell one of the girls is mad because she wants the same nest that is currently being used and they will squawk at each other. I have, and it looks like you do too, plenty of nesting boxes for the girls, but for some reason they all want the same one. Kids!
