Blond Rhode Island Blonds???

Violet is in the foreground here. The lesser blond is on the ground in the background to left of others. I think you can pic her out

Here they are at 4 days old. They all look basically alike, though the two blonds were lighter than the others from babyhood. You can tell that from this picture, or even distinguish the blonds here.

Here they are at 33 days old. The two blonds--Violet the blonder--stand out at left, nestling together.

This pic like the above is also a thumbnail you can enlarge by clicking

Here's Violet again. The Murray McMurray catalog says that RIR s color is a variety of Mahogany. That tells me that all birds (but maybe just McMurrays RIRs?) will be Mahogany. Violet, as you can see, ain't Mahogany. She's buff, yet has the same basic markings of the other RIRs like a bit of black in the tail, some grayish primary (?) wing feathers, and that lovely necklace of narrow black V s all around her neck/hackle feathers. Looks especially lovely on here, since it stands out so well. But still what is her lineage!??

this final thumbnail is really the kicker on Violet the "Rhode Island Blond". Just look at her lovely color and compare to the RIR next to her!!

I wish the pics were bigger
