Ivermectin is not effective for tapeworm. You need praziquantel, which the Equimax contains. I would do as suggested in the posts above.

There are a number of products that contain praziquantel including droncit or drontal tapeworm tablets for dogs and cats, Zimectrin Gold horse paste, and the Equimax which is usually the least expensive method. If you use another product, we can help with dosage since each one is different from the Equimax.
