A question about the wormer… I did do the safeguard goat wormer once then ten days later. Not five days in a row. But I did use the dosage you listed. I have recently picked up the safeguard aquasol, and plan on keeping them all cooped until this works itself out.
Safeguard Aquasol© has the same active Ingredient (Fenbendazole) in Safeguard liquid Goat Dewormer (10%).But I will worm them by your instruction too. But before I do, can you provide any info on using the aquasol? I haven’t used it yet. I didn’t want to overload their systems and worm right after Corid.
Safeguard Aquasol© is a low dose suspension designed to be mixed in the flock's drinking water and will treat Roundworms Only is you follow the manufacturer's dosing instructions.
Safeguard Liquid Goat Dewormer (10%) is a suspension that does not mix well with water and is given orally by weight. Dosing and duration would dictate which worms you are targeting. Generally at a rate of 0.23ml per pound of weight (50mg/kg) is given for 5days in a row to treat most worms that poultry can have except for Tapeworms which require Praziquantel
Economically speaking if you are able, then dosing each bird with the Goat Deworming is a little cheaper and you know they recieved the correct dose. With Aquasol© you are dependent on each bird drinking enough of the medicated water to be effective. Quite a few people do use it, the smaller bottles have been on the market for a few months I haven't seen anyone say one way or another good or bad, it is Fenbendazole which is a good dewormer.
You can treat birds with Fenbendazole while treating with Amprolium, I have not found any literature (so far) stating any contraindications. If using Aquasol© that goes in the water, then of course you'd want to wait and not mix the 2 in the drinking water. If going by giving the Goat Dewormer, then that's a different delivery which should be fine.
