I've been treating my 4 y/o GLW for chronic bumblefoot. She gets it every spring, it becomes very progressed and concerning looking by summer, and then eventually, it goes away by late fall when she stops laying. She's seen a vet multiple times, but surgery doesn't work (it's stringy and throughout the foot pad). I do soaks/wraps, and pick off the bumble as it surfaces.
Anyway, we took off her bandages this morning so she could run around outside in the dewy grass with the others. When my husband put her down she did kinda plop awkwardly, which may have hurt her exposed foot. In any case, I noticed some minor limping afterwards.
We soaked and did a rewrap just a little bit ago, and saw a new growth, which looks to be a blood blister. What could cause this? Is it another infection or from an injury? Anything I can do or will the soaks and wraps help with the blister? Should I get her on a round of baytril?
