So I woke up checked the chickens and saw what looked like a massacre I was so scared it was one of my younger chickens but after inspecting the coop and my chickens I am so confused what happened… None of my chickens have any cuts on them and there’s only blood on 2 but on their feathers… everyone is acting normal too.. I find it hard to believe that the blood came from anything BUT my chickens but there’s literally no cuts or even pecking marks on them… Could they have killed a mouse or something? What do you guys think

Check their claws. I had something similar happen with the same amount of bright red blood all over the pine shavings. Turns out one of the hens snapped off the claw on her fifth toe. She was walking around like nothing whatsoever was off.

Omg I’m checking now.. That’s crazy! I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what happened they’re all acting so normal that’s what keeps throwing me off!! Thanks so much I would’ve never thought this

If after a thorough check, you determine that everyone in the flock is fine, then likely there is a mouse who is very much not fine.
