Blood in my Chicken's Poop

I have three 2 1/2 month old Buff Orpington pullets. This morning, I noticed there was blood in some of their poop. It wasn't with all of it though, some of the droppings looked normal. I posted a picture of it. All 3 of them are acting fine, eating and drinking normal, and scurrying about as usual. I hope this isn't something serious, and that it will either go away on its own, or that I can find a cure for it. Thank you for any advice!

I'd treat for Coccidiosis. Do you have corid on hand?

Yes, sure does look like Coccidiosis. Get them some Corid ASAP & they'll be fine.

Have you fed them anything that would turn the poop red? Tomatoes, strawberries, berries, etc?

If no. Then get some Corid at your TSC or local feed store.

Liquid Corid dose is 2 teaspoons per gallon of water or Powdered Cord is 1 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. Give for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.

Do not add any electrolytes or vitamins to their water during the course of treatment.

Thank you! I don't have a gallon waterer, but a quart waterer. Can I reduce the corid amount, or do I need to get a gallon waterer?

4 quarts to a gallon, so you can use 1/4 the gallon dose, or about .40 tsp (I would just round to a scant 1/2 a tsp) of the powder per quart. Or you can mix up a gallon in a clean jug and use that to refill your quart waterer.

If it isn't Coccidiosis, could the Corid hurt them, or will they be fine? If I find that there is no blood in their poop before the 5 day treatment, should I stop treating them, or should I continue for the rest of the 5 days?

The Corid won't hurt them-it prevents them from absorbing thiamine (which is why you can't give them vitamins at the same time) which starves the parasites. Do the full five days then repeat the treatment a week later. If they get diarrhea from the treatment scale back the concentration of the solution. I used 1 tsp per gallon but my chicken's poop wasn't bright red like that.
