I just went out to collect eggs. Two of the eggs have blood on them. The white egg has the most blood and looks like it happened when the hen layed it. The other egg and the nest boxes look like it may have been transfer??? There are white leghorns and gold sex links in that pen and I dont see anyone that has blood on their vent area. I checked them as best I could as they are pretty wild. I have only had them since Sunday. Should I be worried? Im not seeing any signs of blood on any of them so I dont know how that much blood got on the eggs and in the box. It had to have been one of the leghorns as the white egg looks the worst and you would think I would see signs of that on their white feathers?? HELP? comments? Can I just wash the blood off and still eat the eggs??

Yeah they should be fine.. Just wash the eggs off.. Occasionaly one of my girls will have a hard time and will leave blood the eggs ... Do you know how old they are as younger birds seem to do this more then older....

They are right around a year old and have been laying since the fall and layed all winter. At least that is what the guy said that I got them from

Every now and then one or two will have this. Do'st hurt the egg at all. Wash off and enjoy the eggs.
