Good Morning,
I’m wondering if anyone can help me out with thoughts/suggestions. Two months ago I took in a chicken (Tammy) from cousin’s flock that was being bullied mercilessly. I quarantined her for a month then started incorporating her into my flock (5 chickens, around 14 months old, all different breeds). She attacked a couple of my chickens but, other than that, there really haven’t been any disputes. For the last five days (except yesterday), the whole flock, including Tammy, had been cooped up bound because they wouldn’t go out due to the snow. Tammy always stayed in one corner away from my chickens. Yesterday all five of my chickens went out into the run, but Tammy stayed inside. My cousin said she was always a loner. This morning, when my five were on the coop floor eating their morning treats (of leftover parrot chop), Tammy stayed up on the roost and I fed her from a bowl of mashed feed with grapes. As she was eating she pooped and there was blood in the stool. She doesn’t eat or drink as much when the other hens are in the coop because she’s avoiding interacting with them. Extra info: around ten days ago my head hen, Cloris, looked sick (lethargic, sneezing, nasal discharge), the vet diagnosed her with a generalized bacterial infection and she been on antibiotics and anti inflammatory med since. She’s doing well now. Any thoughts on what could be the issue with Tammy? I see no peck wounds (my five chickens are extremely sweet and docile). I’ll load pics of the stool and Tammy.
