blood like egg

Hello i have two barred rock 3 year old hens. I checked for eggs and found a normal egg and this round red blood like ball. I checked both chickens for anything wrong and everything felt normal. What could this be or mean

That lump/egg looks like it might be what they call a lash or lash egg, Sometimes they come with an egg, sometimes they are just "laid" alone. They seem to think it is part of the lining of the hens reproductive system, sometimes they don't seem to indicate a real a problem and the hen keeps laying like she was, sometimes they mean the hens is coming to the end of her laying life. Wow, that's a strange one, don't think I've ever seen one quite like that.

Could you cut it open and take a pic?
Does it have a shell?
What breeds of chickens do you have?
