Blood on egg...

Is it common to find a little bit of blood on and egg from a hen that has just started to lay?

yes from what I have read on here.

Poo too if they have some on their butt.

a little blood is normal and nothing to worry about

Yep. Just a normal part of being a new layer. Same goes for double yolked eggs, shell-less or soft shelled eggs, etc.
