Blood on outside of eggs?

What causes blood all over the outside of eggs?

Blood on the outside of the eggs is what came from the inside of the hen. It could be an extra large egg or if it she just started laying it could be that as well. I wouldn't be too worried unless it lasts for several weeks. If it worsens I would seek help. From what you described I would just watch and see if the bloody eggs stop after a week or so. Others here may suggest that or something different. Some of mine did it and they were okay and it went away quick. Hope this helps.

Edited to add: some of my grown hens laid bloody eggs, and they were fine and healthy. It rarely happened, but with over 60 laying you get to see a lot of different things going on.
