I think it was all hormonal -- three grown hens worked up because of the new, handsome, young guy. Put on my night vision headlamp this morning, and no more fresh blood for the second day in a row.
Moses didn't roost with the hens at night; he stayed in the wire kennel while the three girls slept on one of the two roosts in my
avatar coop. So, I don't think it was an issue of space.
During the day, I let Moses into a 6-by-10 run by himself while the girls free range or hang out in the coop. Yesterday, I moved him into a smaller run attached to a currently unused coop and relocated him into the garage last night. He couldn't get to any of the ladies, but he surely was dancing for them as they walked by.
@TOMTE, I would like to post photos, but my cheap, prepaid phone tells me it doesn't have enough memory. I am hoping to resolve that issue soon.
Thanks to everyone who responded! I am hopeful that I can now move on to other challenges -- like all getting rid of all the mud that resulted from masses of melting snow so everyone can get out and about.
