I have been raising hens now for almost 2 years. I have 3, and have been pretty consistent with 1 to 3 eggs a day. For the past 2 weeks now I have not gotten any. Have found empty shells or membranes, but no actual edible eggs. Today, however, I got 2, one in the nest that was very bloody, and the pine shaving also had blood on them. Found another egg on the floor of the coop, it also had blood on the shell, was also cracked and seemed thin. I give them oyster shells in a separate bowl and mix some in with the pellets. Anyone have any suggestions what is going on and what I can do or give them to make this situation better.

It’s actually a normal occurrence when they start laying again. They probably broke a blood vessel in their vent. As long as it isn’t constant then you’ll be fine. Keep us posted.
