What causes blood rings? I'm hatching some eggs of mine and some from a friend. Out of her eggs 1 has developed a blood ring, mine have developed 4. Are blood rings something determined by the parents? Is it something in the breeding program or does it have to do with the eggs and incubation?

Also, what is this? It has what looks like two air pockets, 1 where it's supposed to be and 1 longways on the side. It's not like the other eggs in that, the embryo doesn't move around the egg when you turn it. Can it survive and hatch? Should I go ahead and take it out along with the blood rings?

I think the blood ring is from Genetics. Besides that I don't really know. It could also be bacteria in a very porous egg.
