Blood spatter and weird looking feathers on back of neck

maybe unrelated... but I found some crazy blood splatter in the coop today... some even on the chickens... but only one had what seemed to be and injury. Back of her neck... stubs for feathers and some looked black. I can't see how that would have splattered blood though. help! I love these girls!

Probably got pecked or grabbed by the back of the neck and afterwards she shook her head and the blood flew around.
 
Just noticed today... haven't had much time to watch... but no pecking or scratching when I was watching. what about the blood?
 
pecking can be bloody and yes, when they shake, blood, like water off a ducks back, will roll off or fling off.
I think you are good on this one.
 
it seemed like a lot of blood... and there was a good amount on a few eggs and some splatters around the nesting box. looks like some of the other chickens got splattered too.
 
I don't have a rooster... do hens peck each other? could it have been a cut?
