My girls have been laying for about 2 months now.
I keep getting one of the eggs a day that is spotted.
At first I thought it was just the egg colour; then I had to scrub some stuck on,,, well you know.... and the spots came off.
Should I be concerned for my girls?
You can kinda see it the best in the one just above the Jumbo Egg.

She did not lay the jumbo, I know that for sure.

Many dark brown egg layers will lay spotted eggs. Egg shells are basically white inside with a colored coating deposited as the egg is layed. Some really dark eggs such as the black copper marans will be almost purple brown, and when first layed and still wet, you can scratch off some of the coloring with your fingernail. I personally love those spotted eggs and your chicken will probably always lay those. One had a campine who laid a pale tinted egg with white spots. That was cool, but she disappeared recently, probably due to a hawk.
