blood testing (do not look if you are squeemish or do not like blood)

You can test for AI with blood too, and since we were blood testing for pullorum we just blood tested for AI too. They are small but if we didn't test them we wouldn't have had 30 birds and there would have been birds that weren't tested so the tester said it would be fine (I really hope she is right). I am not showing any of the younger ones.

In Wisconsin it is 4 months old to the day or older, unless you are NPIP certified then you dont need to test before a show because you test your whole flock once a year.

Thanks so much for sharing the right way to take blood.

I would also like to say I can't believe they can sex parrots with DNA now. I haven't dealt with parrots in years but they have come a long way baby LOL

I am glad I could help some people. Wow I wonder why I didn't have to test for END. I think I should ask them because though it would ne a hassle for me, it could prvent my birds from getting it. Or is it just a problem out west?
