Blood under the shell?

I found this egg this morning in my coop, obviously some kind of internal issue but I've never seen it before. It really looks more blood-red than is shown in the photo. Any ideas? Unfertilized as I don't have roosters.

Do you have Black Copper Marans? Sometimes their eggs will look more red, then brown/dark brown.
 
The pigmentation for brown eggs uses Hemoglobin, the same protein that contains iron in Red Blood Cells.
