I have hens and my neighbor has chicks and two turkeys. I am asking for her, for one of the turkeys. This morning she noticed a turkey has a bloody beak. We sprayed it with Blu-Kote (which is actually purple) and put it in a coop by itself. We do not see any other wounds. Other chicks were pecking the beak. Since separated that won’t happen, but we do not know if we should do anything else. Ideas or comments?

It almost appears as if part of the upper beak has broken off. If that is the case it may be necessary to provide moistened feed in a deep dish so that the bird can eat.

Thank you. I will do that now. It is just baffling how it happened. No other chicks have any sign of pecking this one. I just checked on the turkey and it is happily sitting in the shade in the quarantined coop.
