I found one of my hens with a bloody rear end and she is very dicile. I washed with warm water and she barely made a fuss, she only made a fuss when I washed in the area of the skin were the eggs come out. A small bloody clot came out while washing.

Any clues??? The chicken is around 8 months old.

Thanks for your help.:|

Keep her warm and away from other chickens. They might have just picked at her. If they haven't, they will if you put them back with them. She probably just had a bad experience laying. Keep her in the dark to stop her from laying for a while and hope that somebody who knows more comes on to help you. I've just been through this 3 times recently, but mine was more prolapes and picking. I lost the first girl, the others are ok. I found them in time.

Thank you, I will move her immediately.
