My neighbor had this issue today. None of us have had this before. What do we do?

Gather her up and give her backside a good washing/cleaning up.
Take some photos after you have her cleaned up so we can see what's going on.

She may have or had a prolapse and the other chickens pecked at it - just a guess.

Hopefully we can tell more soon.

Her bottom keeps flexing in and out and in and out like she is trying to lay an egg but she did just pass a blood covered egg and she doesn't have another one in there.

What other symptoms are there, is she anemic, has she been hanging out alone lately, has the flock been chasing her off? Is she alert?

Sounds like she was egg bound and pushed so much, she was able to pass it,then she prolapsed. And that's real pink and they will pick at. Mine had to be culled, she had a oviduct issue. Odd shaped eggs and prolapse. I put back twice. It just kept happening. Also I was told she was overweight. Now I go by hungry poultry are happy poultry. No problem with eggs in chickens ducks or my geese. I cut them back about 20 percent on feed, treats and scraps. When they empty their feeders they graze.

Oh OK interesting!! We both have feeders and keep the food coming. Maybe we shouldn't do that?

She just wasn't walking normal and she was in the coop when they found her. She was just staying in there and not moving a lot. Not sitting or feathers fluffed out but standing up and still.

Like my chick when I found her recently. If prolapsed, you can push it back in. An antibiotic spray like vetrycin may help to

She laid another egg today with no shell. I've never heard of that!

It looks like she's had a prolapse and it's been picked at.
Keep her separated so the others don't pick at it. Keep the exposed tissue moist with an anti-inflammatory cream, prep H, honey or similar.
You can try pushing the tissue back in, but it may not stay in until swelling is down.
I can't stress to you how important it is to keep any exposed tissue moist with your ointment of choice.

I would also make sure she's drinking well and got getting dehydrated. Give her extra calcium - TUMS or Caltrate can be given once a day for up to 5 days. Calcium can help with retention.

Yes. You need to make feed available for all the birds during waking hours. If you have 2 feeders that is fine. Provide them with fresh feed and water daily.
