Bloody butt and little black bugs

I was collecting the eggs tonight when I found something disturbing. I had all the eggs and brought them back into the house. Upon seeing then in the light, I noticed one of them had some blood on it. Freaked out, I went back out to check butts. The first bird I picked up, a dark brahma hen, defiantly blood on her butt, but not a whole lot. The thing that caught my eye though were these bunches of tiny little mite-like things all around her butt-hole. They're very tiny, about the size of a pinhead, if that, and black. I checked the rest of the hens. Some had a few, others had none. The first one defiantly had the blood and the most bugs.

Are these mites? If so, how do I get rid of them.

I'm not positive, but thats what it sounds like to me. You probably need to dust them all, along with their coop and roosts too. Good luck.
