I came home to find a very bloody chicken. It was dripping down her beak, she was very puffed up with a droopy tail, and it was on her back to.
We wiped the blood off and this is her face now. She lost a chunk of her comb.

Shes still in shock and im not sure what happened. She isn’t really moving, and her tail is still a bit droopy. I gave her some rooster booster and put some bag balm on it. Any suggestions to what i should do now and if i should put her back outside?

Oh no! Poor girl! I personally might leave her inside at least until she comes out of shock? Any idea how it happened?

No idea. If i was to guess, id either say a thornbush or wire fence. They always sneak in the neighbors yard to go in this big bush that has a few thorn prickles inside it, theres also a wire fence in-front of the bush, so she could have scratched it on either one of those.

Well I'm not very good at suggesting treatment, I would be surprised if just the comb injure caused her to go into shock.
Maybe something attacked her? I would check her over carefully in case there's more injures.

Okay. I will in the morning cause their on the rods sleeping now.

She seems better now, (or better then before) she drank a LOT of electrolyte water and ate plenty of food. She beat up Jolene (as she does) so i think thats a good sign, but not sure if it was due to the electrolytes. I won’t give her any more and i’ll look her over in the morning.

Eating and drinking are very good signs, so hopefully she feels much better in the morning.

I noticed in my flock that they seem to randomly peck at each other a lot. I came into the coop one morning (it is locked up each night) and found blood on one chicken. She was bleeding on the front of her comb and it was draining into her nose and mouth. This might have caused her to have a bit of trouble breathing. I cleaned up the wound and held it closed til it clotted and stopped bleeding, then I put Vetericyn on it. We have a small coop we use for isolation when necessary and put her in it overnight. The next night, I let her back in the main coop. Everything was fine for several days. I went in at mid-day and found blood in the coop. Funny thing is I checked all fifteen chickens and not a spot of blood on any of them. Strange! So far all are doing fine, laying eggs, and eating well. I have identified a couple of the more aggressive chickens in the crowd, but just minor jabs. I might see if putting one or both of the aggressive chickens in the temporary coop for awhile will tame them down.

That’s horrible! Though i’m quite sure this isn’t the cause, i just wanted to add it out there. Some of mine got some horrendous (like seriously deep and bloody) cuts from some hardware clothe. Maybe that could be causing an injury? Either way, chickens can be so brutal sometimes. One of mine is ruthless and will tear any chicken apart except her favorite, who she even tidbits for and preens.

Great suggestion on the hardware call. I will do an thorough inspection on the coop today. I should do that more often as it can shift and expose tips. I realized I had a broody chicken. Even docile chickens can get brutal when broody. I moved her to a smaller coop I use for introducing chicks to the outside world. I will take her out in two or three days. Hopefully that will break her.
