bloody chicken

I have a hen that has crusty blood under her wings. she won't let me catch her to investigate, which is strange because they usually let me pet them. I will go back out there to try again, but does anybody have any ideas as to what this may be?

I could not tell you what this may be but go out when they are settling in for the night and pick her up then. This is what I do when I need to look over one of my girls.

Okay. I was able to hold her this morning. When you lift her wings, there is a skint spot on both sides of her back about the size of a 50 cent piece. They are kinda drying out and look like they are trying to scab over now. What could this be from and what do I do for it?
