hi- I have an 18 week old pullet who started having bloody diarrhea Sunday. I started treating with Corid Monday morning. I also started Tylan because she sounded a little raspy. I don’t like throwing antibiotics at a problem, but I’ve used Tylan before for a similar issue in an older hen with success several months ago. She is inside by herself. She’s up, alert, scratching and preening-but her appetite is down. We’re on Wednesday and her diarrhea doesn’t look any better and her appetite still isn’t back. She’s picking at food but not eating much. I did move her to laying pellets 2 weeks ago (ran out of chick starter and thought she was old enough). I’m using the liquid Corid- 1tsp per gallon. Should I go up to 2tsp? Any other ideas? I do not have a local vet that will do anything with chickens. Both poop pictures are from this morning when I took her to the patio for some fresh air.

Is she drinking out of the waterer?. You may need to dip her beak in the water to make sure she is drinking it or giving plain Corid orally via syringe or eye dropper.I would go up to 1.5 teaspoon per gallon.

Make a 'drench' batch of Corid/water mixture and give it to her orally. ASAP.
Mix 1/2 teaspoon of Corid with 2 teaspoons of water and give her a few drops of this mixture straight to the beak a couple times of day...in addition to what you are already doing but up your 'regular' mixture to 2 teaspoons of Cord with a gallon of water.

Make new batches daily.
