Just went to collect eggs and I have a Golden Commet that has bloody vent feathers and I have a bloody egg. What is it? What should I do? She is active and comb is a good color.
The egg wasn't broken till my kids "helped" me. LOL Thank you so much for any help!
Check her vent area for mites. I also recommend that you take a fresh feces sample to a vet and have them check for worms, particularly capillary worms.
OK, I went down last night, washed her off and saw no new blood. Her vent didnt look bloody, not too sure what it should look like normally but it was pinkish white color. Not protruding. She looks good. Heres hoping it was a freak thing. Thanks everyone for the help! I appreciate it!
