Bloody egg

Attached is a photo of an egg my son cracked this morning. I know about blood spots but I've never seen this. What could cause this. Lily is 6 months old and has been laying for about a week. I'd appreciate any information you could give.

Wow, that's a lot of blood. Likely due to her being young and a real bad blood vessel burst.
It may be a one time thing.

Did it taste good?

Didn't eat it, just too much blood.
